“A space of cultural inclusion through the performing arts”
On our site, in South Jackson St, Maynard St South, and South Main St, the two closely knitted districts allowed us to create an inclusive space where connections could be made with the significant historic landmarks in the surrounding areas, and people in the two communities could come together and showcase their differences in traditions and customs through the performing arts. We hope that in the space we have created, the two communities could be brought together, be aware of each others differences, as well as keeping the surrounding neighborhoods alive. Not wanting to disregards the differences in cuisines of the two districts, we included an areas for a food court and farmers market, where the surrounding restaurants could showcase their fusion of food to the visitors of our cultural center.
